Team Roster

Executive board!

outgoing president: Kate

Kate plays scrum half and just about any back position. She played at Occidental as an undergrad, and when they finally kicked her out, she was one of the founding members of the Olde Girls.

incoming president: Cristin

Cristin plays flanker, 8, and scary wing. She played with the UCLA club side for 4 years before joining Oxy Olde Girls. She also has blue hair, and wishes she had played in college.

outgoing VP: Maggie

Maggie plays prop and hooks and locks when needed. Like most tight fivers, she wishes she were a flanker. Scarily enough, she has also played scrum half. She played with Oxy College and UCLA club side for a season before helping start the Olde Girls in 2003. Maggie is also an international referee.

incoming VP: Ashley

Ashley plays um. some back position. She should really be a loose forward because she's a tackling, rucking, mauling, screaming animal. She started in 2004 with the Olde Girls after the guys she was with in a bar told her that Maggie would crush her if she played. She joined up to prove them wrong.

outgoing treasurer: Aita

Aita plays prop, flanker, and has been known to lock. She came to the OGs in the pre-season of 2004, but then spent the spring in South Africa playing rugby.

incoming treasurer: Tra

Tra (pronounced "tray") locks and can also play loose forward. She played for Clemson U. and has been a member of the Armed Forces Combined Services team since 1997. She also played one game for the Portland Pirrahs in 1996 but got knocked out and doesn't remeber what she did for the rest of the season.

outgoing match secretary: Corrine

Corrine is a loose forward who fills in with the backs. A versatile player, Corrine has propped, hooked, locked, fullbacked, and centered as well during different games this season. She played with Oxy College, and then went on to help found the OGs.

incoming match secretary: Nikki

Nikki mainly locks, but also can be a loose forward. She was a wing on her last team in Ohio, we just forced her to lock. She doesn't seem to hate it so much anymore. She just finished up her rookie year with the OGs.

social chair: Kameron

Kameron played flyhalf with us this year. She runs around a lot and can kick quite well. She played with the Oxy collegiate team before joining up with the OGs during 7s last year.

Everybody else!

Coach: Trie

Trie can do almost anything, and is also a great coach. She has played with Wisconsin and UCLA, and also coaches the SoCal under 23 women, and the L.A. Rebellion team.

Ali

Ali props. Tight head for the most part, but has been forced to play loose head, and even hooker on rare occasion. She has played in college at Cornell, comes from Baltimore, and also played on the UCLA club side and 7s with NOVA and the Turbo Props before coming to the O.G.s

Chris

Chris hooks and can also swing in with the loose forwards or prop when needed. She has incredible experience breaking her nose, but it still looks button cute. She started playing touch with the Caltech men's team in 2004, but they wouldn't let her tackle them, so she joined up with the OGs.

Drags

Drags is really her nickname, but she plays fullback and inside center. She can also fill in in all the other back positions. She played center on the Oxy college team from 1997-2003, So. Cal 7s in 2003, and then became a founding member of the OGs.

Stoner

Yes, her name really is Stoner. Don't let her name fool you. She plays wing, fullback and outside center, coming right to us fresh from Hong Kong where she played for 4 years. She was on the H.K. Women's U-19 National Team for two years, and is now a member of the So. Cal U19 team.

Bell

Bell can flank and center. She sometimes doesn't hear the whistle. This was her first season playing with the OGs. Before that, she had a week of practice with Santa Monica.

Jersey

Jersey plays back and loose forward. She has played before, but she hasn't told me where.

Murphy

Murphy flanks. She can also fill in at center. She has been playing since 1996 - Gonzaga and Evergreen colleges, then the UCLA club side. She joined the OGs this season after being inspired by our drive to keep playing and keeping it positive, even though we didn't have 15 on the pitch. She is also a referee for So. Cal.

Jaime

Jaime is yet another back that I really can't remember what she does except run around a hell of a lot. She was actually a flanker, but we force her to play with the backs because she kicks ass. She played in college in Rhode Island before she joined us for our 2004 season. She also has played rugby in New Zealand.

Erika

Erika goes both ways: she flanks and fills in with the backs. After toying with our emotions for almost a year, she finally joined us for the 2004-5 season.

Linda

Linda props and locks. Don't mess with Linda. Small players bounce right off her when she drives through them like a truck.

Maya

Maya is a speedy winger. This was her rookie year with the OGs. She thinks that rugby is a strong passionate sport, and that there isn't anything sexier than that.
